Join Sala Diaz and art activating hope (aah) collaborative for a pop-up installation.

The aah collaborative, our 2025 Studio Resident Artists, is a community-based art initiative promoting effective social change. During their time at Sala Diaz, they’ve been working on the project “take a fortune + leave a fortune” a community project that creates togetherness through kindness and craft. The artists have crafted 3,000 hand-stitched, felt, fortune cookies that hang throughout the gallery. An interactive element will provide guests the opportunity to partake in the artwork. 

The pop-up will include past projects such as “institutionalized loneliness”–– which threads object making, performance, storytelling, and intergenerational learning into our personal and communal experiences ––  and “the residents” and “beading behind bars” projects which deal with time, memory, and loss. 

The pop-up will also feature artists that have worked with aah collaborative throughout the years. This event is free and open to everyone!
